I hate “pseudo disabled” people who are just fat, or lazy, that use up all the handicap parking spots. i hate that my city has the worst sidewalks and nothing is accessible. i hate being in pain every hour of every day. i hate cathing, and using “digital stimulation” to shit. I hate that everyone assumes you can piss and shit the same way you always did. I hate that random girls ask me if I can get “hard”, and they assume I can still cum. I hate that pre-sci my legs were my life ( a friend once asked me pre-sci, “what is one body part i couldnt live without” and i said, “i’d kill myself if i couldn’t walk”), and now, compared to everything else i have to live with, I wouldn’t mind being in a wheelchair if I didn’t have all these other issues. i hate that nothing’s accessible in my $#@@# country… not even my mom’s house so i can’t go up there unless i walk… and i can’t do that right now… can’t wear my freaking leg without hurting myself even more… even the sports association for the disabled here (they call themself “Challenges”) don’t know crap about accessibility. oh yea, FMySCI and my AKA.

I am soaking wet because some fat woman on a scooter with a temporary handicapped parking placard took the last handicapped spot at Target and we had a huge thunderstorm blow in while I was getting into my chair! I realize its difficult to walk because of your weight but that is probably part of your problem, I cant walk! So I got to freeze while I shopped in my wet clothes, I didn’t realize I was going to be in a wet t shirt contest or I would have worn a bra…FMySCI

For those Able bodied people who don’t get it and think this is a bunch of complaining or gross talking about accidents and all. I challenge you. Sit down in a chair at your sink. Try doing the dishes and brushing your teeth. Now get your office chair and try to vacuum. I challenge you to not say f*** this. And you were only a para for 10 minutes. Now imagine you couldn’t use your grip to hold your toothbrush to brush those teeth from that chair. FMySCI.

I hate that my balance sucks and I do a great weeble impression. I hate the effort it takes to get back into my chair when I fall out. I hate the humiliation. I hate the pain, the feeling of a thousand electric shocks just as I am about to drop off to sleep. I hate that I haven’t had a good nights sleep for over 2 years. I hate that I can’t be spontaneous, everything I do must planned. I hate forward planning. I hate how much disability costs. I hate the pitying looks I get from people, the stares, the questions. I hate that I can no longer do the job I loved. I hate my bladder & my bowels, the time and effort spent on making sure they behave. I hate the frustration, that I still burst into tears over “stupid” things. FMySCI.

My Nana died and travelling with a SCI is so complicated that I won’t be going to her funeral. Besides the only places I’d be able to go is the funeral because all my aunts houses etc. are inaccessible. FMySCI.

annual 4th of july weekend ribfest! …that i never remember or get invited to because it’s all grass [and i use a manual chair, not power... yet.] spent the entire blah weekend inside doing pretty much nothing and now that the weekends over, i can peruse the multiple sets of photos of my friends having fun at said fest… what a waste of a weekend. FMySCI.

I used to love to travel. My husband went to Turkey for a month on business and I was going to go with him for 2 weeks as a vacation. After researching Istanbul and the lack of wheelchair access and the hassle of the long flight with a SCI I just stayed home and worked. FMySCI!

I drove an hour + to go to my good friend’s wedding. She warned me that there were a few stairs so I brought my 6 foot ramp. Turns out there were two sets of stairs at a right angle to each other. Ramp was useless and my power wheelchair weighs a ton, not worth the risk of being carried up. Up side? I had a huge bowel accident a couple hours later so at least I was home by then. FMySCI.
